Marble Canyon Restoration
Grand Canyon, AZ
|Stories
Three buildings have stood at the edge of Marble Canyon long enough to become part of the landscape itself. The Old Lodge. The Old Adobe. The Gallery Building. For anyone who has traveled this road, crossed the bridge, or spent time in this community, they are familiar in the way that only old structures can be — worn in, rooted, present.
We are not removing them.
Terra Vi Grand Canyon is investing in the full restoration of all three legacy buildings. This is not a demolition project. It is a preservation project — one that requires significantly more investment, more care, and more complexity than starting over would. We have chosen it deliberately, because these buildings have value that cannot be replicated.
What Restoration Means
Restoration is not a freeze in time, and we want to be straightforward about that. These buildings will be updated. Where materials have failed or fallen short of current standards, they will be replaced. Interiors will be modernized for safety, accessibility, and long-term function. Some exterior elements will look different when the work is done.
What will not change is the presence of these buildings in the landscape — their scale, their massing, their relationship to the canyon and the road. We are not building replicas. We are returning these structures to active, cared-for life.
The Three Legacy Buildings

The Old Lodge will be restored as a meeting and community gathering space — a place for local events and shared life, which is exactly the kind of use it deserves.

The Old Adobe will be rehabilitated as a flexible general-purpose space. Its essential form and character will be maintained throughout.

The Gallery Building (also known as the 400 Building) will become the main lobby and guest welcome center for Terra Vi Grand Canyon — a threshold between the road and the landscape that begins with a sense of place.
Why Now?
These buildings had reached a critical condition. Years of exposure to the high desert — sun, wind, temperature extremes — had taken a real toll. Without intervention, the risk of permanent loss was genuine. Waiting would only make preservation harder and more costly.
We are acting now because we are committed to the long-term stewardship of this place.
Our Commitment to the Community
Terra Vi's investment in Marble Canyon goes beyond the buildings. Local hiring is a priority across all our projects in the area. Wages for local team members at Marble Canyon Lodge have been increased. The restoration project has created additional construction jobs through Seva Build, our construction company.
We are here for the long term — investing in infrastructure and in people.
